* DM: DM_MMC migration is now mandatory for non-SPLTom Rini2021-05-111-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | As it has been now two years past the migration deadline, it is required to have migrated. Remove the check from the Makefile and rework some of the Kconfig logic slightly to get the functional dependencies of DM_MMC / BLK right in both the SPL and non-SPL case. * mmc: octeontx_hsmmc: Add support for MIPS OcteonStefan Roese2021-04-221-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Until now, the Octeontx MMC driver did only support the ARM Octeon TX/Tx2 platforms. This patch adds support for the MIPS Octeon platform to this driver. Here a short summary of the changes: - Enable driver compilation for MIPS Octeon, including the MMC related header file - Reorder header inclusion - Switch to using the clk framework to get the input clock - Remove some functions for MIPS Octeon, as some registers don't exist here Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de> Cc: Peng Fan <peng.fan@nxp.com> Cc: Aaron Williams <awilliams@marvell.com> Cc: Chandrakala Chavva <cchavva@marvell.com> Cc: Daniel Schwierzeck <daniel.schwierzeck@gmail.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is a straightforward conversion of the old, non-dm driver. It was done in-place as the deadline for non-dm MMC has passed. Previous commits ensured that no board depends on the old, non-dm variant. Tested on a Kirkwood based board with eMMC. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | According to the AM654x Data Manual[1], the setup timing in lower speed modes can only be met if the controller uses a falling edge data launch. To ensure this, the HIGH_SPEED_ENA (HOST_CONTROL[2]) bit should be cleared in default speed, SD high speed, MMC high speed, SDR12 and SDR25 speed modes. Use the sdhci writeb callback to implement this condition. | | | | | | | | | | | Newer eSDHC controllers support ADMA2 descriptor tables which support 64bit DMA addresses. One notable user of addresses in the upper memory segment is the EFI loader. If support is enabled, but the controller doesn't support ADMA2, we will fall back to SDMA (and thus 32 bit DMA addresses only). Signed-off-by: Michael Walle <michael@walle.cc>

* mmc: fsl_esdhc: workaround for hardware 3.3v IO reliability issueYangbo Lu2020-06-151-0/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When eSDHC operates at 3.3v, damage can accumulate in an internal level shifter at a higher than expected rate. The faster the interface runs, the more damage accumulates. This issue now is found on LX2160A eSDHC1 for only SD card. The hardware workaround is recommended to use an on-board level shifter that is 1.8v on SoC side and 3.3v on SD card side. For boards without hardware workaround, this option could be enabled, ensuring 1.8v IO voltage and disabling eSDHC if no card. This option assumes no hotplug, and u-boot has to make all the way to to linux to use 1.8v UHS-I speed mode if has card. If you do not want the workaround for better user experience, of course you can choose to not select it running eSDHC in unsafe mode. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The fsl_esdhc driver was for Freescale eSDHC on MPC83XX/MPC85XX initially. The later QoriQ series PowerPC processors (which were evolutions of MPC83XX/MPC85XX), QorIQ series ARM processors, and i.MX series processors were using this driver for their eSDHCs too. For the two series processors, the eSDHCs are becoming more and more different. We should have split it into two drivers, like them (sdhci-of-esdhc.c/sdhci-esdhc-imx.c) in linux kernel. This patch is just to create a fsl_esdhc_imx driver which is a copy of fsl_esdhc driver for i.MX processors. We will convert i.MX processors to use fsl_esdhc_imx, and clean up the two drivers separately in the future patches. | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The bounce buffer is used by a few drivers (most of the MMC drivers) to overcome limitations in their respective DMA implementation. This moves the configuration to Kconfig and makes it user-selectable (even though it will be a required feature to make those drivers work): the expected usage is for drivers depending on this to 'select' it unconditionally from their respective Kconfig (see follow-up patches). This commit includes a full migration using moveconfig.py to ensure that each commit compiles.
