+ type is known as the Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension, or MIME type. You
+ can associate applications with particular MIME types, and specify the default
+ action to occur when you launch a MIME type from a file manager window. For
+ example, if the MIME type of a file indicates that it is an audio file, then
+ the desktop launches the file with an audio application.</para>
