Remove somewhat confusing casts
"luckily" DIAGNOSTIC_DUMP does not quote its arguments, so
DIAGNOSTIC_DUMP((int)array, size)
expanded into
...
fprintf(stderr, "%.2x:", (int)(int)array[out_index]);
...
Still, it would break with more meticulous parenthesising, and the macro
invocations appear to be casting an array to int.
