* sh: sh3: Remove CPU supportMarek Vasut2019-05-101-12/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | This CPU core is old, no boards using the CPU are left in mainline, it has no prospects of ever being converted to DM, drop it. * SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini2018-05-071-3/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
* sh: share the correct version of start.S among all cpusVladimir Zapolskiy2016-12-021-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | It is easy to note that SH2/SH3/SH4 start.S code is practically the same with a minor difference for SH2 where a short data header is present. To avoid unwanted code duplication and to automatically convert SH2 and SH3 platforms to generic board support move fixed SH4 start.S into arch/sh/lib/start.S and share it among all platforms. * sh3: remove unused cache.c file from being builtVladimir Zapolskiy2016-12-021-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | The change is similar to commit 994b56616bae ("sh: delete an unused source file") for SH2, however here the removed cache.c file was built and included into an image as a dead code. If it is needed in future the contents can be reused from a similar arch/sh/cpu/sh4/cache.c file, which is in turn will be moved to a shared among all core flavours location at arch/sh/lib/cache.c. * punt unused clean/distclean targetsMike Frysinger2011-10-151-6/+0
| | | | | | | | | | The top level Makefile does not do any recursion into subdirs when cleaning, so these clean/distclean targets in random arch/board dirs never get used. Punt them all. MAKEALL didn't report any errors related to this that I could see. Signed-off-by: Mike Frysinger <vapier@gentoo.org>
* Switch from archive libraries to partial linkingSebastien Carlier2010-11-171-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Before this commit, weak symbols were not overridden by non-weak symbols found in archive libraries when linking with recent versions of binutils. As stated in the System V ABI, "the link editor does not extract archive members to resolve undefined weak symbols". This commit changes all Makefiles to use partial linking (ld -r) instead of creating library archives, which forces all symbols to participate in linking, allowing non-weak symbols to override weak symbols as intended. This approach is also used by Linux, from which the gmake function cmd_link_o_target (defined in config.mk and used in all Makefiles) is inspired. The name of each former library archive is preserved except for extensions which change from ".a" to ".o". This commit updates references accordingly where needed, in particular in some linker scripts. This commit reveals board configurations that exclude some features but include source files that depend these disabled features in the build, resulting in undefined symbols. Known such cases include: - disabling CMD_NET but not CMD_NFS; - enabling CONFIG_OF_LIBFDT but not CONFIG_QE. Signed-off-by: Sebastien Carlier <sebastien.carlier@gmail.com>
