* Remove LDAP limits from DNS serviceMartin Kosek2012-05-221-3/+22
| | | | | | | | | | | | bind-dyndb-ldap persistent search queries LDAP for all DNS records. The LDAP connection must have no size or time limits to work properly. This patch updates limits both for existing service principal on updated machine and for new service principals added as a part of DNS installation. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2531
* Remove duplicate and unused utility codePetr Viktorin2012-05-091-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IPA has some unused code from abandoned features (Radius, ipa 1.x user input, commant-line tab completion), as well as some duplicate utilities. This patch cleans up the utility modules. Duplicate code consolidated into ipapython.ipautil: {ipalib.util,ipaserver.ipautil,ipapython.ipautil}.realm_to_suffix {ipaserver,ipapython}.ipautil.CIDict (with style improvements from the ipaserver version) {ipapython.entity,ipaserver.ipautil}.utf8_encode_value {ipapython.entity,ipaserver.ipautil}.utf8_encode_values ipalib.util.get_fqdn was removed in favor of the same function in ipaserver.install.installutils Removed unused code: ipalib.util: load_plugins_in_dir import_plugins_subpackage make_repr (was imported but unused; also removed from tests) ipapython.ipautil: format_list parse_key_value_pairs read_pairs_file read_items_file user_input_plain AttributeValueCompleter ItemCompleter ipaserver.ipautil: get_gsserror (a different version exists in ipapython.ipautil) ipaserver.ipautil ended up empty and is removed entirely. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2650
* Fix installation when server hostname is not in a default domainMartin Kosek2012-04-081-12/+26
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When IPA server is configured with DNS and its hostname is not located in a default domain, SRV records are not valid. Additionally, httpd does not serve XMLRPC interface because it IPA server domain-realm mapping is missing in krb5.conf. All CLI commands were then failing. This patch amends this configuration. It fixes SRV records in served domain to include full FQDN instead of relative hostname when the IPA server hostname is not located in served domain. IPA server forward record is also placed to correct zone. When IPA server is not in a served domain a proper domain-realm mapping is configured to krb5.conf. The template was improved in order to be able to hold this information. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2602
* Improve user awareness about dnsconfigMartin Kosek2012-03-261-0/+20
| | | | | | | | | | | | Global DNS configuration is a nice tool to maintain a common DNS settings stored in LDAP which are then used for all enrolled IPA servers. However, the settings stored in LDAP override local settings in named.conf on DNS servers. This patch adds more information about global DNS configuration options in install scripts and DNS module help. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2525
* Add SSHFP update policy for existing zonesMartin Kosek2012-02-271-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | SSH public key support includes a feature to automatically add/update client SSH fingerprints in SSHFP records. However, the update won't work for zones created before this support was added as they don't allow clients to update SSHFP records in their update policies. This patch lets dns upgrade module extend the original policy to allow the SSHFP dynamic updates. It updates only original policy, we don't want it to overwrite custom user policies. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2394
* Query and transfer ACLs for DNS zonesMartin Kosek2012-02-241-2/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | Provide a way to specify BIND allow-query and allow-transfer ACLs for DNS zones. IMPORTANT: new bind-dyndb-ldap adds a zone transfer ability. To avoid zone information leaks to unintended places, allow-transfer ACL for every zone is by default set to none and has to be explicitly enabled by an Administrator. This is done both for new DNS zones and old DNS zones during RPM update via new DNS upgrade plugin. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1211
* Update host SSH public keys on the server during client install.Jan Cholasta2012-02-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | This is done by calling host-mod to update the keys on IPA server and nsupdate to update DNS SSHFP records. DNS update can be disabled using --no-dns-sshfp ipa-client-install option. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1634
* Fix ipa-server-install for dual NICsMartin Kosek2012-01-221-2/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | A server may have 2 or more NICs and its hostname may thus resolve to 2 and more forward addresses. IP address checks in install scripts does not expect this setup and may fail or crash. This script adds a support for multiple forward addresses for a hostname. The install scripts do not crash now. When one IP address is needed, user is asked to choose from all detected server IP addresses. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2154
* Change default DNS zone manager to hostmasterMartin Kosek2011-11-291-2/+2
| | | | | | | Change our default zone manager to hostmaster@<domain> (as per RFC 2142 recommendation). https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1981
* Improve zonemgr validator and normalizerMartin Kosek2011-11-291-8/+7
| | | | | | | | | | The validator has been improved to support better both SOA format (e-mail address in a domain name format, without '@') and standard e-mail format. Allow '\.' character in a SOA format encoding the standard '.' in the local-part of an e-mail. Normalization code has been moved to one common function. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/2053
* ticket 2022 - modify codebase to utilize IPALogManager, obsoletes loggingJohn Dennis2011-11-231-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | | | change default_logger_level to debug in configure_standard_logging add new ipa_log_manager module, move log_mgr there, also export root_logger from log_mgr. change all log_manager imports to ipa_log_manager and change log_manager.root_logger to root_logger. add missing import for parse_log_level()
* Add --zonemgr/--admin-mail validatorMartin Kosek2011-10-261-0/+17
| | | | | | | | | | | Do at least a basic validation of DNS zone manager mail address. Do not require '@' to be in the mail address as the SOA record stores this value without it and people may be used to configure it that way. '@' is always removed by the installer/dns plugin before the DNS zone is created. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1966
* Check /etc/hosts file in ipa-server-installMartin Kosek2011-10-131-1/+1
| | | | | | | | There may already be a record in /etc/hosts for chosen IP address which may not be detected under some circumstances. Make sure that /etc/hosts is checked properly. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1923

* Let Bind track data changesMartin Kosek2011-08-311-2/+9
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Integrate new bind-dyndb-ldap features to automatically track DNS data changes: 1) Zone refresh Set --zone-refresh in installation to define number of seconds between bind-dyndb-ldap polls for new DNS zones. User now doesn't have to restart name server when a new zone is added. 2) New zone notifications Use LDAP persistent search mechanism to immediately get notification when any new DNS zone is added. Use --zone-notif install option to enable. This option is mutually exclusive with Zone refresh. To enable this functionality in existing IPA installations, update a list of arguments for bind-dyndb-ldap in /etc/named.conf. An example when zone refresh is disabled and DNS data change notifications (argument psearch of bind-dyndb-ldap) are enabled: dynamic-db "ipa" { ... arg "zone_refresh 0"; arg "psearch yes"; }; This patch requires bind-dyndb-ldap-1.0.0-0.1.b1 or later. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/826
* Fix idnsUpdatePolicy for reverse zone recordMartin Kosek2011-08-091-1/+2
| | | | | | | Make sure that idnsUpdatePolicy for reverse zone does not contain double trailing "dot" after server installation. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1591
* Fix creation of reverse DNS zones.Jan Cholasta2011-07-151-47/+79
| | | | | | | | | | | | | Create reverse DNS zone for /24 IPv4 subnet and /64 IPv6 subnet by default instead of using the netmask from the --ip-address option. Custom reverse DNS zone can be specified using new --reverse-zone option, which replaces the old --ip-address netmask way of creating reverse zones. The reverse DNS zone name is printed to the user during the install. ticket 1398
* DNS installation fails when domain and host domain mismatchMartin Kosek2011-06-191-0/+9
| | | | | | | | Create DNS domain for IPA server hostname first so that it's forward record can be added. This results in 2 forward DNS zones created when server hostname doesn't equal server domain. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1194
* Improve DNS zone creationMartin Kosek2011-06-151-16/+51
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When a new DNS zone is being created a local hostname is set as a nameserver of the new zone. However, when the zone is created during ipa-replica-prepare, the the current master/replica doesn't have to be an IPA server with DNS support. This would lead to DNS zones with incorrect NS records as they wouldn't point to a valid name server. Now, a list of all master servers with DNS support is retrieved during DNS zone creation and added as NS records for a new DNS zone. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1261

* Fix reverse zone creation in ipa-replica-prepareMartin Kosek2011-05-271-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | When a new reverse zone was created in ipa-replica-prepare (this may happen when a new replica is from different subnet), the master DNS address was corrupted by invalid A/AAAA record. This caused problems for example in installing replica. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1223
* NS records not updated by replicaMartin Kosek2011-05-031-1/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | When replica with DNS is installed, NS records for the managed zone are not updated with the replica FQDN. The administrator then has to do it manually to enroll the new DNS server to the zone. This patch also removes the newly created NS records when the replica is removed via ipa-replica-manage command. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/1034

* Fine tuning DNS optionsJakub Hrozek2011-02-141-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | Add pointer to self to /etc/hosts to avoid chicken/egg problems when restarting DNS. On servers set both dns_lookup_realm and dns_lookup_kdc to false so we don't attempt to do any resolving. Leave it to true on clients. Set rdns to false on both server and client. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/931

* Change FreeIPA license to GPLv3+Jakub Hrozek2010-12-201-5/+5
| | | | | | | | | | The changes include: * Change license blobs in source files to mention GPLv3+ not GPLv2 only * Add GPLv3+ license text * Package COPYING not LICENSE as the license blobs (even the old ones) mention COPYING specifically, it is also more common, I think https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/239
* Introduce ipa control script that reads configuration off ldapSimo Sorce2010-12-101-1/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | This replace the former ipactl script, as well as replace the current way ipa components are started. Instead of enabling each service in the system init scripts, enable only the ipa script, and then let it start all components based on the configuration read from the LDAP tree. resolves: https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/294
* Do not create reverse zone by defaultJakub Hrozek2010-12-021-2/+10
| | | | | | | Prompt for creation of reverse zone, with the default for unattended installations being False. https://fedorahosted.org/freeipa/ticket/418
* Re-implement access control using an updated model.Rob Crittenden2010-12-011-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The new model is based on permssions, privileges and roles. Most importantly it corrects the reverse membership that caused problems in the previous implementation. You add permission to privileges and privileges to roles, not the other way around (even though it works that way behind the scenes). A permission object is a combination of a simple group and an aci. The linkage between the aci and the permission is the description of the permission. This shows as the name/description of the aci. ldap:///self and groups granting groups (v1-style) are not supported by this model (it will be provided separately). This makes the aci plugin internal only. ticket 445
* Detect if DNS is already configured in IPA, or if IPA is not yet installed.Rob Crittenden2010-10-081-2/+5
| | | | | | | ipa-dns-manage could fail in very odd ways depending on the current configuration of the server. Handle things a bit better. ticket 210

* Show all missing packages when setting up bind, not one at a time.Rob Crittenden2010-09-161-4/+8
| | | | | | | | We used to check for these one at a time so you'd run it once and find out you're missing the bind package. Install that and run the installer again and you'd discover you're missing bind-dyndb-ldap. ticket 140
* Make the installer/uninstaller more aware of its stateRob Crittenden2010-05-031-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | We have had a state file for quite some time that is used to return the system to its pre-install state. We can use that to determine what has been configured. This patch: - uses the state file to determine if dogtag was installed - prevents someone from trying to re-install an installed server - displays some output when uninstalling - re-arranges the ipa_kpasswd installation so the state is properly saved - removes pkiuser if it was added by the installer - fetches and installs the CA on both masters and clients

* Get rid of ipapython.config in ipa-replica-prepareMartin Nagy2010-02-091-25/+27
| | | | | | | | | | Also get rid of functions get_host_name(), get_realm_name() and get_domain_name(). They used the old ipapython.config. Instead, use the variables from api.env. We also change them to bootstrap() and finalize() correctly. Additionally, we add the dns_container_exists() function that will be used in ipa-replica-prepare (next patch).
* Set BIND to use ldapi and use fake mnameMartin Nagy2010-01-211-0/+2
| | | | | | The fake_mname for now doesn't exists but is a feature that will be added in the near future. Since any unknown arguments to bind-dyndb-ldap are ignored, we are safe to use it now.
* Only add an NTP SRV record if we really are setting up NTPMartin Nagy2010-01-211-3/+12
