Explain how to change your password, and what might break if you do that.

In the Activities overview, Type to search users and groups. Click on it when it comes up.

In the Users Settings, select the user whose password you wish to change.

Next to Password click Change.

Fill in your Current password, New password, and Confirmation password (which needs to match the New password).

Click Ok.

Using the Command Line

At the terminal prompt type: passwd

Enter your current password.

Enter the new desired password twice. You're done.

Change Keyring Password

If you change your login password, it may become out of sync with the keyring password. Your keyring password will remain the same as your old password. To change your keyring password (to match your login password):

In the Activities overview Type to search Passwords and Encryption Keys.

In the Passwords tab, right-click on Passwords: login. Select Change Password.

Enter your Old Password, followed by your current Password, and Confirm your current password by entering it again.

Click Ok.
