* bugfix: testbench failed when not executed in UTC+1 timezoneRainer Gerhards2010-03-294-5/+9
| | | | | accidently, the time zone information was kept inside some to-be-checked-for responses

* bugfix(minor): BSD_SO_COMPAT query function had some global vars not ↵Rainer Gerhards2010-03-222-3/+4
| | | | | | | properly initialized. However, in practice the loader initializes them with zero, the desired value, so there were no actual issue in almost all cases.
* added one more test case for dynafile cacheRainer Gerhards2010-03-223-1/+55
|
* cleanup of debug message in testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-03-221-1/+0
|
* added testcase showcasing problems when dynafile can not be openedRainer Gerhards2010-03-223-16/+75
| | | | | note that so far no patch is provided. This has not yet been made part of "make check"
* added some more tests for severely ill-formed snare messagesRainer Gerhards2010-03-217-6/+90
| | | | also improved nettester testbench tool a bit
* added parser test cases to testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-03-194-0/+26
|
* solved some race conditions in testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-03-192-1/+4
| | | | the test cases actually have some races, not the code to be tested
* slight improvement to testing toolsRainer Gerhards2010-03-193-9/+29
|
* fixed regression from previos (yet unrelease) $omfileFlushOnTXEnd fixtemp.4.6.1.10Rainer Gerhards2010-03-191-2/+2
| | | | | | | | The previous fix fixed an issue with on/off bying used in the exact wrong semantic. It corrected the situation, but failed to fix one spot where the wrong semantics were used. This is done with this commit. Note that this is NOT a bug seen in any released version.
* added additional test case for async writerRainer Gerhards2010-03-193-0/+43
|
* some cleanup, some additional comments and a bit more debug outputRainer Gerhards2010-03-184-17/+13
|
* added test for deadlock with dynafile writing and cache exhaustionRainer Gerhards2010-03-173-0/+82
| | | | | | Note that this introduces a test case that breaks the current code. This commit does NOT yet provide the necessary code patch. Thus "make check" does currently hang.
* added test to check for deadlock condition in async-written filesRainer Gerhards2010-03-173-0/+47
| | | | | | Note that this introduces a test case that breaks the current code. This commit does NOT yet provide the necessary code patch. Thus make check does currently hang.
* added new, complex testcase to testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-03-163-8/+24
| | | | | this is an excerpt from some of the more intensen manual tests I am doing, stripped down to be useful inside the testbench.
* fix recently introduced minor nit in Makefile for testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-03-151-1/+0
|
* added more parser test casesRainer Gerhards2010-03-113-2/+147
| | | | also improved testing tools to support new testcase structure
* added more tests to testbench and improved testing toolsRainer Gerhards2010-03-1114-7/+199
|
* added ability to work with larger message sizes to testbench toolsRainer Gerhards2010-03-102-11/+63
|
* testbench: new calling interface for tcpfloodRainer Gerhards2010-03-1013-34/+37
| | | | | this is a perquisite to support more flexible testing modes, which could not intelligently be implemented with the old interface
* Merge branch 'v4-stable' into v4-stable-nextRainer Gerhards2010-03-101-0/+3

| * fixed regression introduced with previous commitRainer Gerhards2010-03-101-0/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | disk queue mode did no longer work correctly. A side-effect of this commit here is slightly cleaned-up (and more elegant) code for circular files.
* | some cosmetic changesRainer Gerhards2010-03-104-0/+4
|/ | | | | | note that a buffer size calculation was done wrong, but this was cosmetic because our buffers currently all use byte size, so even though the formula was wrong, the result was correct.
* bugfixes and testbench improvementRainer Gerhards2010-03-109-0/+145
| | | | | | | | | | - improved testbench - bugfix: potential data loss during file stream shutdown - bugfix: potential problems during file stream shutdown The shutdown/close sequence was not clean, what potentially (but unlikely) could lead to some issues. We have not been able to describe any fatal cases, but there was some bug potential. Sequence has now been straighted out.
* added new property replacer option "date-rfc3164-buggyday"Rainer Gerhards2010-03-085-0/+36
| | | | | primarily to ease migration from syslog-ng. See property replacer doc for details. [backport from 5.5.3 because urgently needed by some]
* Includes "config.h" before any other header.Yann Droneaud2010-03-042-0/+2
| | | | | | | For consistency, ./configure generated "config.h" must be the first header include through out the project. Signed-off-by: Rainer Gerhards <rgerhards@adiscon.com>
* reordered some include, because otherwise we get zlib-related errorsRainer Gerhards2010-03-031-2/+1
| | | | | on some platforms (namely Debian sid). This smells like a bug in zlib. Thanks to Michael Biebl for reporting the issue.
* message parser fixes and testbench enhancementsRainer Gerhards2010-02-221-1/+33
| | | | | | | | | - improved testbench to contain samples for totally malformed messages which miss parts of the message content - bugfix: some malformed messages could lead to a missing LF inside files or some other missing parts of the template content. - bugfix: if a message ended immediately with a hostname, the hostname was mistakenly interpreted as TAG, and localhost be used as hostname
* bugfix: message without MSG part could case a segfaultRainer Gerhards2010-02-223-3/+8
| | | | | | | [backported from v5 commit 98d1ed504ec001728955a5bcd7916f64cd85f39f] This actually was a "recent" regression, but I did not realize that it was introduced by the performance optimization in v4-devel. Shame on me for having two devel versions at the same time...

* added one more test to testbenchRainer Gerhards2010-02-083-0/+28
|
* enhanced test suiteRainer Gerhards2010-02-083-2/+33
| | | | | now CSV and regex extraction are being tested (would have caught the bug fixed with the last commit).

* Merge branch 'v4-stable' into v4-betaRainer Gerhards2009-11-124-0/+47
|\ | | | | | | | | Conflicts: tests/Makefile.am
| * bugfix: $ActionExecOnlyOnceEveryInterval did not work.Rainer Gerhards2009-11-124-0/+46
| | | | | | | | | | | | This was a regression from the time() optimizations done in v4. Bug tracker: http://bugzilla.adiscon.com/show_bug.cgi?id=143 Thanks to Klaus Tachtler for reporting this bug.
* | somewhat enhanced test suiteRainer Gerhards2009-11-1119-29/+187
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | also prepared test case for TLS testing, but not activated it inside the build itself. A note on TLS testing: the current testsuite (in git!) already contains TLS test cases. However, getting these test cases correct is not simple. That's not a problem with the code itself, but rater a problem with synchronization in the test environment. So I have deciced to keep the TLS tests in, but not yet actually utilize them. This is most probably left as an excercise for future (devel) releases.
* | testbench improvement: gzip-plain-tcp mode is now being testedRainer Gerhards2009-11-117-21/+71
| | | | | | | | | | ... also improved two-instance test mechanism, now have a generic approach.
* | added support for dual-rsyslogd-instance test cases to testbenchRainer Gerhards2009-11-116-17/+98
| | | | | | | | ... plus a simple initial test of the tcp forwarding capability.
* | added pipe action test to testbench & testbench bugfixRainer Gerhards2009-11-059-14/+72
| |
* | bugfix(testbench): testcase did not properly wait for rsyslod shutdownRainer Gerhards2009-10-301-1/+5
| | | | | | | | | | thus some unpredictable behavior and a false negative test result could occur. [BACKPORTED from v5]
