* [WANROUTER]: Kill kmalloc debugging code.David S. Miller2006-12-071-57/+0
| | | | | | It duplicates what SLAB debug can do already. Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [WAN]: Remove broken and unmaintained Sangoma drivers.Adrian Bunk2006-04-111-2/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The in-kernel Sangoma drivers are both not compiling and marked as BROKEN since at least kernel 2.6.0. Sangoma offers out-of-tree drivers, and David Mandelstam told me Sangoma does no longer maintain the in-kernel drivers and prefers to provide them as a separate installation package. This patch therefore removes these drivers. Signed-off-by: Adrian Bunk <bunk@stusta.de> Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NET]: Add a dev_ioctl() fallback to sock_ioctl()Christoph Hellwig2006-01-031-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Currently all network protocols need to call dev_ioctl as the default fallback in their ioctl implementations. This patch adds a fallback to dev_ioctl to sock_ioctl if the protocol returned -ENOIOCTLCMD. This way all the procotol ioctl handlers can be simplified and we don't need to export dev_ioctl. * [NET]: move struct proto_ops to constEric Dumazet2006-01-031-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | I noticed that some of 'struct proto_ops' used in the kernel may share a cache line used by locks or other heavily modified data. (default linker alignement is 32 bytes, and L1_CACHE_LINE is 64 or 128 at least) This patch makes sure a 'struct proto_ops' can be declared as const, so that all cpus can share all parts of it without false sharing. This is not mandatory : a driver can still use a read/write structure if it needs to (and eventually a __read_mostly) I made a global stubstitute to change all existing occurences to make them const. This should reduce the possibility of false sharing on SMP, and speedup some socket system calls. Signed-off-by: Eric Dumazet <dada1@cosmosbay.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * [NET]: kfree cleanupJesper Juhl2005-11-082-21/+11
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | From: Jesper Juhl <jesper.juhl@gmail.com> This is the net/ part of the big kfree cleanup patch. Remove pointless checks for NULL prior to calling kfree() in net/. * [TCP]: Move the tcp sock states to net/tcp_states.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2005-08-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Lots of places just needs the states, not even linux/tcp.h, where this enum was, needs it. This speeds up development of the refactorings as less sources are rebuilt when things get moved from net/tcp.h. * [NET]: move config options out to individual protocolsSam Ravnborg2005-07-111-0/+29
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Move the protocol specific config options out to the specific protocols. With this change net/Kconfig now starts to become readable and serve as a good basis for further re-structuring. The menu structure is left almost intact, except that indention is fixed in most cases. Most visible are the INET changes where several "depends on INET" are replaced with a single ifdef INET / endif pair. Several new files were created to accomplish this change - they are small but serve the purpose that config options are now distributed out where they belongs. * [PATCH] misc verify_area cleanupsJesper Juhl2005-05-011-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | There were still a few comments left refering to verify_area, and two functions, verify_area_skas & verify_area_tt that just wrap corresponding access_ok_skas & access_ok_tt functions, just like verify_area does for access_ok - deprecate those. There was also a few places that still used verify_area in commented-out code, fix those up to use access_ok. After applying this one there should not be anything left but finally removing verify_area completely, which will happen after a kernel release or two. * Linux-2.6.12-rc2v2.6.12-rc2Linus Torvalds2005-04-165-0/+3888
Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
