* [IPV4] ipmr: ip multicast route bug fix.Alexey Kuznetsov2006-07-251-6/+13
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | IP multicast route code was reusing an skb which causes use after free and double free. From: Alexey Kuznetsov <kuznet@ms2.inr.ac.ru> Note, it is real skb_clone(), not alloc_skb(). Equeued skb contains the whole half-prepared netlink message plus room for the rest. It could be also skb_copy(), if we want to be puristic about mangling cloned data, but original copy is really not going to be used. * [IPV4]: Get rid of redundant IPCB->opts initialisationHerbert Xu2006-07-211-2/+0
| | | | | | | | Now that we always zero the IPCB->opts in ip_rcv, it is no longer necessary to do so before calling netif_rx for tunneled packets. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

* [NET]: dev_put/dev_hold cleanupStephen Hemminger2006-03-201-2/+2
| | | | | | | | | Get rid of the old __dev_put macro that is just a hold over from pre 2.6 kernel. And turn dev_hold into an inline instead of a macro. * [NET]: Change 1500 to ETH_DATA_LEN in some filesKris Katterjohn2006-01-051-1/+2
| | | | | | | | These patches add the header linux/if_ether.h and change 1500 to ETH_DATA_LEN in some files. Signed-off-by: Kris Katterjohn <kjak@users.sourceforge.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [INET_SOCK]: Move struct inet_sock & helper functions to net/inet_sock.hArnaldo Carvalho de Melo2006-01-031-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | To help in reducing the number of include dependencies, several files were touched as they were getting needed headers indirectly for stuff they use. Thanks also to Alan Menegotto for pointing out that net/dccp/proto.c had linux/dccp.h include twice. Signed-off-by: Arnaldo Carvalho de Melo <acme@mandriva.com> Signed-off-by: David S. * [IPV4]: Replace __in_dev_get with __in_dev_get_rcu/rtnlHerbert Xu2005-10-031-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The following patch renames __in_dev_get() to __in_dev_get_rtnl() and introduces __in_dev_get_rcu() to cover the second case. 1) RCU with refcnt should use in_dev_get(). 2) RCU without refcnt should use __in_dev_get_rcu(). 3) All others must hold RTNL and use __in_dev_get_rtnl(). There is one exception in net/ipv4/route.c which is in fact a pre-existing race condition. I've marked it as such so that we remember to fix it. This patch is based on suggestions and prior work by Suzanne Wood and Paul McKenney. Signed-off-by: Herbert Xu <herbert@gondor.apana.org.au> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NET]: use __read_mostly on kmem_cache_t , DEFINE_SNMP_STAT pointersEric Dumazet2005-08-291-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch puts mostly read only data in the right section (read_mostly), to help sharing of these data between CPUS without memory ping pongs. On one of my production machine, tcp_statistics was sitting in a heavily modified cache line, so *every* SNMP update had to force a reload. * [NETLINK]: Missing initializations in dumped dataPatrick McHardy2005-06-281-2/+8
| | | | | | | | Mostly missing initialization of padding fields of 1 or 2 bytes length, two instances of uninitialized nlmsgerr->msg of 16 bytes length. Signed-off-by: Patrick McHardy <kaber@trash.net> Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>
* [NETFILTER]: Drop conntrack reference in ip_call_ra_chain()/ip_mr_input()Patrick McHardy2005-06-211-0/+1

Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
