* ppc: remove ppc_ide_mdBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-182-73/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Add special cases for pplus and prep to ide_default_{irq,io_base}() (+ FIXMEs about the need to use IDE platform host driver instead). * Remove no longer needed ppc_ide_md and struct ide_machdep_calls. * Then remove <linux/ide.h> include from: - arch/powerpc/kernel/setup_32.c - arch/ppc/kernel/ppc_ksyms.c - arch/ppc/kernel/setup.c - arch/ppc/platforms/pplus.c - arch/ppc/platforms/prep_setup.c There should be no functional changes caused by this patch. Cc: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>

| | | | | | | | | | | * Call ide_init_default_irq() for pplus in init_ide_data(). * Remove no longer needed pplus_ide_init_hwif_ports(). There should be no functional changes caused by this patch. * ppc/sandpoint: remove ppc_ide_md hooksBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-182-97/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Add IDE_HFLAG_FORCE_LEGACY_IRQS host flag for Motorola-Sandpoint platform to sl82c105 host driver. * Disable ide_generic host driver in arch/ppc/configs/sandpoint_defconfig and enable sl82c105 one. * Remove ppc_ide_md hooks from arch/ppc/platforms/sandpoint.c - no need for them (sl82c105 host driver takes care of all this setup). * Then remove no longer needed <linux/ide.h> include. * Also update arch/ppc/platforms/sandpoint.h. Unfortunately (unlike lopec's case) sl82c105 host driver was not enabled in defconfing so there is a funcionality change. [ Not a big deal since sl82c105 is superior over ide_generic. ] Cc: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org> Signed-off-by: Bartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz <bzolnier@gmail.com>
* ppc/lopec: remove ppc_ide_md hooksBartlomiej Zolnierkiewicz2008-04-181-85/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | * Add IDE_HFLAG_FORCE_LEGACY_IRQS host flag for Motorola-LoPEC platform to sl82c105 host driver. * Remove ppc_ide_md hooks from arch/ppc/platforms/lopec.c - no need for them (sl82c105 host driver takes care of all this setup). * Then remove no longer needed <linux/ide.h> include. Looking at arch/ppc/configs/lopec_defconfig: ... CONFIG_IDE_GENERIC=y CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDEPCI=y # CONFIG_IDEPCI_SHARE_IRQ is not set # CONFIG_BLK_DEV_OFFBOARD is not set CONFIG_BLK_DEV_GENERIC=y # CONFIG_BLK_DEV_OPTI621 is not set CONFIG_BLK_DEV_SL82C105=y ... there should be no functional changes unless somebody preferred to disable sl82c105 host driver and use only ide_generic one (but why would anybody want to do such thing :-). PS It seems that lopec_defconfig hasn't been updated for ages but if somebody is going to do it please look into disabling IDE_GENERIC and BLK_DEV_GENERIC config options. Thanks. | * [POWERPC] virtex bug fix: Use canonical value for AC97 interrupt xparamsGrant Likely2007-12-071-0/+8
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The ml300 and ml403 xparameters.h files use different macros for the AC97 interrupt pin assignments. This normalizes them to a canonical value similar to what EDK generates for most other devices. This is needed to get ml300 support to compile in arch/ppc. * [POWERPC] 4xx: Fix 4xx flush_tlb_page()Benjamin Herrenschmidt2007-11-013-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | On 4xx CPUs, the current implementation of flush_tlb_page() uses a low level _tlbie() assembly function that only works for the current PID. Thus, invalidations caused by, for example, a COW fault triggered by get_user_pages() from a different context will not work properly, causing among other things, gdb breakpoints to fail. This patch adds a "pid" argument to _tlbie() on 4xx processors, and uses it to flush entries in the right context. FSL BookE also gets the argument but it seems they don't need it (their tlbivax form ignores the PID when invalidating according to the document I have). | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | tolerance Lifted from http://bugzilla.kernel.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8182 Steps to reproduce: - Boot an Ocotea board with the mainline 2.6.20.1 kernel. - Create an /etc/ntp.conf file with at least one NTP server and iburst mode set. - Issue the command "ntpd -g". - Wait about two minutes. - Verify ntpd's status via "ntpq -pn" and by looking in /var/log/ntp. This fixes this problem by adjusting the expected clock frequency.
