AUTOMAKE: Use portable way to link with gettext
Function gettext needn't be included in libc, it can be part of another
library. Autotools macro AM_GNU_GETTEXT generate makefile variables
(LIBINTL, LTLIBINTL), which contain necessary linker flags.
